The showers held off long enough for our parade in the afternoon, which featured the junior and senior bands, the cheer- leaders, and each of the lovely senior sponsors. But the rain during the halftime ceremonies could dampen no one’s spirits when we honored Claudia Canipe as our maid of honor and crowned Peggy Ayers as Our queen. 12 Miss Peggy Ann Ayers Junior Band marches in Homecoming parade. 13 ice a tough one cho ls made students gir Lovely 14 Assemblies Brighten Atmosphere French III students give skit. “Louder ... Regardless of what sign each of us was born under, a good time was had by all as the juniors presented the seniors with a multicolored, strobe-painted, blacklit prom. Rocky, Eddie, and Willa pose for a picture. Tough Schedule Takes Toll Being picked to fin- ish low in the con- ference, the Wolves surprised many by tieing Maiden and upsetting Glen Alpine at the start of the season. The Wolver- ines “‘never say die spirit” prevailed through a bruising schedule and mounting injuries. Winning ways returned to Drexel as they ended the season by swamp- ing Gaston Country Day by a 38 to 6 score. Drexel’s defense is determined. Griffin’s block gains extra yardage for Byrd. 24 “Let go you H H S!H%!” — Coach Shull autographs footballs.
