After lunch while most students forged on into the second half of a school day, vocational students left campus to conquer the world of business. Traveling to different points throughout the country such as Rader’s, Roses, and the Ham House, the students of DE and ICT go to their respective jobs. Films, field trips, candy sales, and a gigantic Christmas drive to help the needy all combined to make Mr. Franklin’s and Mr. Hildebran’s classes exciting ones. Adding to the enrichment of the Graphics Arts Department were visits in December to the Graphics Arts Department of Appalachian State University and to the Charlotte Merchandise Mart in March where representatives of different companies demonstrating varied types of machines. Helping with the publication of material for the county such as the Lyceum, the Wolverine Scene, and report cards was the addition of a new Varityper. 23
