Nineteen sixty-eight has been eventful for Drexel High School due largely to the efforts of the administration. Our principal Mr. Harry Hallyburton has been hard at work keeping the school running smoothly. Aided by the Assistant Principal, Merlin Shull, Mr. Hallyburton has overseen the Student Council and done the endless paper work required of them. Others are necessary to making the school an efficient working body. Mrs. Margaret Eply and Mrs. Effie Hester have served as secretaries for students and teach¬ ers, as well as Mr. Hallyburton. The sen¬ iors owe a debt of gratitude to Mrs. Reep and Mrs. Gregory for their aid in helping to decide what after graduation! In Mor- ganton, Mr. John L. Johnson has done the difficult job of overseeing the Burke County School System. Recognition also goes to the School Board for the time they have given to Drexel High School. MR. HALLYBURTON MRS. Senior Glass Officers Seniors will soon leave the security of D. H. S. and enter the world of adults. For the past twelve years they have prepared and anticipated for this momentous event, but now feel a twinge of sad¬ ness at the thought of leaving. As the Seniors gaze into the memoirs of their high school years, they also look forward-to the future. Here the Class Officers - Pam Murphy, Secretary; James Davis, Treasurer; Jerry Byrd, President; Alvin Ballard, Vice President - look at old annuals and relive their days at Drexel High School.
