Cass Prophecy I picked up a newspaper and seeing that the famous astronaut, Dennis Dean, had just returned from his ninety-day trip to Venus, I began to think of all my old Drexel High School class members who graduated over a decade ago in 1964, Little flash pictures ran through my mind and I saw that most admired Home Economist, Ava Aber- nethy, speaking to a group of young people in our western states; then I could see the notices which announced the appointment of Danny Adkins, Sherrill Garrison, and Leroy Knecht to co-engineering positions with General Motors, Now the pictures became quicker and more distinct. Jeff Alexander is head of the United States Department of Animal Husbandry, while Benjamin Williams, no longer in pharmacy, but in pure research, has just developed a new drug which Dr. Eugene Ellege will probably be writing up in his column of scientific happenings, On T. V. the other night, the celebrated comed- ian, Doug Harris, mentioned that Robert Willis, the rich bachelor, wés seen riding in Danny Smith's new Rolls Royce on Fifth Avenue, I saw where Mackie Nicholson, Lewis Honneycutt, Dean Wakefield, and Isiah Moses all hold important positions in their cities and towns. Oh yes! Over the years, some of my classmates have been elected Housewives of the Year; Brenda J. Baker, Sue Boughman, Brenda Deal, Vivian Farris, Janice Parrish, and Sylvia Webb have each held this distinguished honor, After Ken Treadway's boys beat Merlin Shull’s football team he soon went to the top, He and Gary Powell and Glenn Childers are the coaches of the nation's top pro-ball teams, Just thinking back a bit, I wonder what the teaching profession would have done if it had not been for the Class of '64 at Drexel High School, It seems that the nation's top teachers came from that class, Emily Ballard is now teaching at Woman's College, Nina Simmons is teaching in the New York City School System, John Edwards is principal of the old home school - I hear Drexel thinks a lot of John, I saw where Martha Bass has accepted a fellowship at one of the Northern Universities and Jer- ry Clarke is now Business Administrator of the National Association of Teachers, Obviously Sandra Ballew was able to reach her goal of finding an easy way to make money. She has been touring Europe for the last three years, Also Paul Keaton has completed his third trip around the world this year, Sarah Jones, news coriéspondent to the United Nations, wrote of our new representative, Ronald Buff, and his wonderful work, in her last column, , And who is the top singer of the day? That's right! It's none other than Harmon Lee Bumgarner, He has the top two hits on the day's list, Harley Parton is now on tour of the country meeting thousands of teenagers and telling them how to make their first tax-free million, just like the great economist, Leonard Trumble, did last year. Maybe some of my classmates were successful just because of who they married, It seems to me that Christine Devinney and Milburn Hubbard, commercial artist, are good examples. One person stands out in my mind, Gary Stephens, missionary to South Africa, is certainly a suc- cess just because he is in the will of his Lord, Let me think, Who were the others? Betty Brittain, friendliest person you can meet; Van Burns, secretary to the late Rochefeller estate; Jackie Curtis, married with a wonderful family; Rebecca Daye, medical secretary at New York General Hospital; Dorthy Franklin, married and happy; Glenn Franklin, now in business for himself; Janet Franklin, also happily married; Sandra Griffin, medical correspondent; Margaret Huffman, secretary; Brenda Lowman, another successful housewife; Gail Miller, new T, V, Celebrity; Gereau McClured, in medicine; Jimmy Moses, working for G, E, ; Dennis Nichols, married and settled down; Benita Pinelli, model; and all the others who are equal- ly successful and happy: Judy H. Powel, Leon Powell, Phyllis Randall, Kenneth Rector, Joyce Reece, Larry Ried, Kathryn Rice, Johnny Secreat, Rita Settlemyre, Louise Shoupe, Brenda Smith, Phill Stamey, Louetta Sutton, Roy Waycaster, Linda Williams, Sherron Yoder, and Terry Yount. These who are lawyers, technologists, pilots, teachers and just happy people, are all successful, each in his own way. Suddenly I awoke over my English term paper. It was all a dream! But who knows?
