Last Will and Testament We, the Senior Class of 1960, believing ourselves to be of sound mind and body, do hereby revoke all former wills as null and void, and declare this to be our Last Will and Testament. To the School Board, we express our gratitude for their interest in us and for having made these years of education possible. To the faculty, and our principal, we bequeath our heartfelt gratitude, respect, and love for their interest and efforts in our behalf, and also for the inspiration we have gained by our contact with them. To the members of the Junior Class, we make the following individual bequeaths: JEAN SPENCER wills her entire first cornet folder to Kenneth Secrest, hoping he'll put up all that music next year. RITA GRADY and GLENDA LANE will their abil- ity to fix their hair so many d i f f e r e n t ways to Mary Lowery, with a pack of rubber bands included. DON GRIGG and MIKE GRIFFIN bequeath their Abraham Lincoln walk to Bill Ha 1 ly b ur t o n and James Pearson. JOEL SIMMONS wills his patience to learn the English accent to James Setzer and Bob Costner, who'll need it next year in studying Old English. To Norman Ross and Ted Deal, JA C K HE S TE R and HAROLD DENTON will their ability to catch the girls'eyes with their curly hair. PHIL BURNS wills all the pleasures and inconveniences of a red topnotch to Nancy Powell, Greta Powell, and Pansy Branch, with the assurance that there's enough of each to go around. JEFFREY BRENDLE leaves his little black book to Rondal Williams and Don Bumgarner, hoping there won't be a fight over pages two, six, and nine. S YL VIA HENLEY, VIVIAN POWELL, and EDITH FRANKLIN will their quiet and petit personalities to Billie Kay Cline and No r m a C 1 i ne. DON HULLand LARRY REECE leave their football shoes and uniforms to Johnny Daye and Charles Brittain. HELENA POWELL and MILDRED LINGAFELDT will their beautiful singing voices, and the ability to reach all the high notes to Kay Baker. WALTER JOHNSON and RICHARD COOPER be- queath t h e i r white coats to D a vi d N i c ho 1 s and Roy Lefevers, but only for the Junior-Senior. CARL CAMPBELL, HELEN BARBER, and YATES BUFF leave their lockers on the main floor to Robert Shuffler, Larry King, and David Howell, hoping they'll figure out some way to keep the books in. HOMER MA YE leaves his special route to the magazine rack in study hall to Terry Piercy and Carl Waycaster. VEREDAH STEPHENS and PR I SC ILLA BRANCH leave a list of the cheerleading yells to Betsy Arrowood and Barbara Settlemyre. To Ronnie Hatley and John Franklin, STEVE BURNS and RONDAL WATTS leave their ability to always be in trouble. MORRIS BAKER leaves all his hot rod magazines to Rex Bradshaw and Johnny O'Kelly. CARROLL FRANKLIN and KEN SETTLEMYRE will their love for dear hunting to Larry Smith and Robert Lane. BOBBY DAVES leaves his ability to get his tang all tungled up to Patricia Berry. RODNEY DEAL and BILL HIGGINS will their blond flat-top toupees to David Cook. BRENDA POWELL and BILL BURNS leave Clarence Chapman and Bennett Baird all old receipt books, carbons, pencils, and bills left over from this year's annual. IRENE SMITH and PEGGY CHAPMAN leave their directions on How to Have Pretty Fingernails to Linda Barnes. PEGGY CHAPPELL and LAVADA JACUMIN leave their title as Best Friends to Glenda Vance and Li nd a Farris. GEORGE POWELL and WAYNE BRITTAIN will their school buses to anyone who can get up at 6:00 a.m. PEARL ROBINSON, MIKE HUFFMAN, and STEVE HUFFMAN leave their knack for making teachers think they're smart to James Berry. When they go out of style, SHIRLEY TOWERY, ALMA MAYE, and WILMA MOSES will all their pointed-toe shoes to Kathy Russell. BILLY HIPPSand TEDDYMOSTELLER will their chemistry hand- books and n o t e b o ok s, along with a keep-out sign, to Jimmy Mosteller, BILL RUDICIL and DALE LY BRAND bequeath all their bait and rods to Diane, David, and George, hoping they'll make a good Fisher, but also know how to Frye their Bass. SYBIL COZORT and WILMA REECE will either of their places on the basket- ball court to Charlotte Williams. To Judy Powell, BETTY SUE PEARSON and LINDA SMITH leave their ability to blush anytime they want to. TOMMY SETTLEMYRE wills all his ta rdy slips, bad grades, and debts to Tommy Settlemyre. LINDA RECTOR leaves Robert Rector and Ironee Rector the responsibility of upholding any Rector's good name in school next year. EUNICE SECREST, for her sister, returns the nickname of almighty-high- supreme-being to Donald Ross, to give back to his brother. JUDY YARBROUGH leaves her last seat in every alphabetical-order classroom to Ralph Young. BARBARA STAMEY and PAT KIRBY bequeath all their piano music to Linda Walker. ALYCE BERRY wills her place in front of the mirrors to Judy Brown and Linda Baird. LYNN DUNCAN and LINDA AMOS will their giggle boxes to Nancy Smith. KAY DEAL and REBECCA EASTERLY leave their methods for getting their man to anyone who wants to take the chance. WANDA HAIGLER leaves her interests in the Hickory Scenery to Rat Summers. CAROL GARRISON and BETSY SETTLEMYRE will their love for pretty clothes to Martha Deal and Annie Sue Epley. To Judy Setzer, NANCY TILLEY wills her love for the armed services. SHIRLEY BROWN, RACHEL NORMAN, and VIRGINIA NORTONleave their grin-and-bear-it attitudes to Bill Crawley and Andy Seagle. ALOMA McCLURED wills her place on the basketball court to Zona Baker. 25
