LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT Knowing full well that we are approaching the end of our High School career, and realizing that our vast and valuable possessions may lead to bitter contention among those who aspire to be our heirs, our Last Will and Testa- ment is hereby drawn up and stated as follows: To Mr. Hallyburton and the faculty we leave our un- dying gratitude for their helpfulness, patience, and under- standing during our struggle for knowledge. To the School Board we leave our sincere thanks for their interest in our education. To the Class of ’5 2 we leave our dignity and superiority as Seniors. In addition to these, we have the following individual bequeaths: Clara Miller leaves her baton and twirling technique to Leatrice Childres. Betty June Queen wills her dramatic ability to June Cope. Joe Baird wills his seat in bookkeeping to any Junior crazy enough to take the stuff. Muriel Page bequeaths her resistance to eating between meals to Julia Bumgarner and Tressie May. Gloria Smith wills her red hair to Gladys Howard. Betty Berry and Edna Hallyburton leave their drugstore dinners to Jean Rogers and Pauline Bennett. Leta Moses and Lula Mae Bass bequeath their good grades to Janie Page and Louis Powell. John Henry Powell wills his A-Model to anyone with enough strength to crank it. Ralph Isenhour wills his ability to say the right thing at the wrong time to Bobbie Ramsey. Wanda Fender leaves her good looks to Rachel Baird. Gerald McNeely leaves his store of general knowledge to Stuart Cozort, urging him to use it sparingly. Minyonne Sojourner bequeaths her quick blushes to Eleanor Franklin. Jimmy Bollinger wills his ability to pester his teachers and classmates to Harper Harris. Bill Buff leaves to Jimmy Aikens his convertible and all the popularity that goes with it. (Please leave Bill the girls). Carol Bryant wills her job as soda-jerk” and her what for you’s” to Betty Sue McGalliard. Included is some Jergens lotion for dishpan hands. Kat McNeely leaves to her sister Dot, her talent in music. Bonnie Griffin and Jane Deal leave their lasting friend- ship to any two Juniors who think they can get along that well. Margaret Baker leaves her smooth school-girl complexion to Reba West. Murline Berry bequeaths her Ye-a-a, Drexel” to Martha Jo Berry. Guy wills his position as the all-star quarterback to little Choo-Choo” Rhoney. Jerry Jackson wills his love for French and Mrs. Stover’s classes to Grant Queen. Ted Reece wills his surplus height to Grankie Hubbard. Donald McNeely leaves his own special laugh, hee, hee, ha, ha,” to anyone who can imitate it. Phyllis Harris leaves her box of popcorn to her cousin, Norma Lowdermilk, who may let her borrow it occasion- ally. Lib Branch wills her excellent athletic record to Bea Childres. Joe Carswell bequeaths his ability to shag and jitterbug to J. B. McNeely. Gay Rector leaves her drivers manual (for Pontiacs) to Willie Parks Woody. Darby Cooper wills his pleasant, easy-going ways to Jo Ann Tilley. Betty Jean Stamey leaves her comb and bobby pins to Rex Baker. To anyone who would like a few extra A’s” Shelton Woody leaves his ability to study during study hall. Nell Shull wills her reputation as being little but loud” to Charles Farris. Barbara Abernathy leaves her freckles, plus her lemon juice and vanishing cream to Hazel Powell. Geraldine Woody and Ned Sigmon bequeath their quiet- ness to Janet Burns and Ken Ervin Deal. Garland Watts leaves his reputation for being on time for class to Joe Saunders. Ernest Shell wills the seat in front of him (his special prop) to Leo Bollinger.
