Ann 11 Il 1 The most important organization of the college is the Student Council, which is composed of representatives elected from their respective classes. The Student Council this year saw as its purpose the formulation of policy, the promotion of discussions, and service to the students through the democratic principles of individual freedom and initiative. Through distribu- tion of Council minutes, posting of the agenda before meetings, and the Council Column in the Acorn, the Council encouraged students to bring problems be- fore the members of the group. The Council moved into a new home this year - an office located in Bowne Lecture Hall fully equipped with a typewriter, desks and conference tables. The Council, for the first time, assumed a position of being a supervisory organization - supervising itself, Social Committee, and Drew-Eds, and reintroduced the idea of an honor system for the college community. In the spring and fall, the Council sponsored a leadership conference, with the oflicers of the various religious, academic, and social organizations of the college attend- ing. By acquainting themselves with some of the prob- lems encountered' by the various organizations, these student leaders may be able to initiate student action in the future, which may reduce these problems. Junior Class Representatives: Barbara Dilley, Jerry Wil- liams, Qmissing: Dick Lyonsj. T i The meeting continues after curfew. Looks like everyone forgot to show up for the meet ing. Senior Class Represcntrmtivesz Ken Stevens, Betsy Gec- gey, Jeff Gillman.
