Their per- formance, new cheers and rallies have been excellent. Assisting the cheerleaders in the bleachers all year was Diane Cooper Morris, the Varsity D Queen. Her avid interestand attendance in the varsity program and her bubbling enthusiasm and personality made Coop a natural choice for the honor bestowed upon her by the Varsity Dv Club. Doug Wicoff, Jerry Williams, Pete Petty, Ralph Powell, VARSITY D CL This year's ofiicers of the Varsity D Club were Jerry Williams, president, Dr. Charles Lytle, Vice president, Ralph Powell treas- urer, and Scott Bickell, secretary. Under their leadership, the club has initiated several new pro- grams such as the regular news- letter to alumni, a varsity-alumni basketball game, a Hlm library of varsity games and steak roasts following the alumni soccer and baseball games. This year's Albert Ben Wegener game was played against N.C.E. on Fedruary 16. The Rangers went down to a 53-48 defeat in the closing moments of the game. The recipient of the 1963 Ben Wegener trophy was Dick Staf- ord. Dick has been a varsity basketball player for four years and was captain this year. He has been on the baseball team for three years and was elected cap- tain this year.
