FENCI G 1 1 ' V, . A ,'.. 1 . 31:2 if-E o A, 5:5?52i! : 355.2 . Coach Rocco V. Feravolo What was expected to be a building year turned out to be the most spectacular year in the history of Drew fencing. The team turned in a 9-1 record losing only to Yeshiva Univer- sity by a 14-13 score. Following the season the Rangers invaded Rochester, New York, and walked away with first place in the North At- lantic Tournament, both the sabre and epee teams also taking the first spot. The following week, the Rangers again took first place at the N.O.E. Invitation Tournament. Outstanding performances on the team came from Bill Owen, Storm Rode, Dick Lyons and Bob Benner. Most of us are very optimistic about the Rangers for next year, losing only one steady starter in Al Menkin and two strong back-up men Fred Hust and Sandy Schatz, all at sabre. t ar e ' H V. .g:. ,il ftrzt 47 F-iii f M y ,f s D af i XF J ' f ga ,ff it Ni i if if fi Q if t V 3 1 Vg s 465 ami 2 E 'W fn f F , X S 1 it 1, 5 . ,Z Q K Team - Ist ROW: Bill Owen, Storm Rode, Dick Lyons, Al Menkin, Fred XI-Iust, .Sandy Schatz, Bob Benner, Mike Slippen, 2nd ROW: Rocco Feravolo, coach, Dick Villarnil, Hap Holden, Ron Lindenboom, Bob Weldon, Bill Herbst- C, , f s, ,f N 76 ' fg X af X, sf' X . 6 M ,X man, Thornton Ash, Al Bugaeff, Bob Boileau, Bruce Ander son, Dave Lindroth, Dan Daniels, Bruce Littman, Don Kanzaki, Dick Lehne.
