Mr. Guy L. Varn Superintendent It is easy to recognize you, Mr. Varn, as our stately and dignified superintendent, but it is your personal qualities which have won the recognition, respect, and admiration of your associates and students all over the city and state, qualities of innate honesty, in- tegrity, and fairness to all. Because these qualities are as much a part of you as your friendly smile and warm greeting, we want you to know, Mr. Varn, that we are proud there are people like you in the field of education. ADMINISTRATION As I sat in the assembly, I suddenly found myself viewing the figure now standing be- fore the podium. The deep baritone voice echoed across the large room as our speaker thoughtfully, simply, and forcefully advised us, his words IuII of wisdom and sincerity. Few men would we find in our educational careers so interested in the individual, his talents and his shortcomings. It was not un- usual to see this colorful personality walking down the hall humming the latest song hit, pausing between notes to greet a student with a witty comment or just a friendly hello. Suddenly the multitude of hands were ap- plauding this gentleman, and, as I joined in, one thought came to mind-here was a great man, here was our principal, Mr. Blum. Mr. .l. K. Blum Principal

Dedication There it goes again! Doubt not your eye- sight or your sanity, for it's not a satellite orbiting about our halls, it's just Mr. Simpson scurrying to the aid of some teacher or stu- dent. You see, he's like that, always walking that extra mile-smiling that extra smile. Officially he is only a teacher and sponsor ofthe Snack Bar, but unotficially he's the Mr. Fixit and Dreher's most avid sport enthusiast -in short, a very wonderful man. If again you should see, and you will, a shiny dome and a pipe flashing down the halls, return his hello and be glad that he is a Dreherite. He profits most who serves best, and profit he has, lor Mr. Simpson has won the heart of Dreher High School. Mr. Charles T. Simpson As a teacher As a sponsor As a friend
