Class History lf we were to turn back the pages of time to a beautiful September morning in 1939, we would see ahappy little group gladiully going their way, with merry hearts and happy minds, but with little knowledge ci their destined fate for the next twelve years. We are, of course, speaking of the great Class of 1951. A date that then seemed to be of an unending duration. But now we have finally come to the end of our journey through grade and high school. Eight of the group that started in the first grade and are now of the graduating class are: Leslie Engelbrektson, Kathryn Ferguson, Jerry Jorde, Donna Nelson, Clarence Peterson, Jo Rudnick, Pat Rutherford, and Connie Simmons. No one en- tered our class until the third grade, and it then brought Tommy Dryden and Laurence La Haise into our class. The fourth grade added Bruce Peterson, Kenney Schu- macher, Angie Raney, Doris Schumacher, and Jim Stewart. The third and fourth grades are probably the most memorable to this little group. ln the fifth grade, Clair Maurstad increased our class. The sixth grade brought Davidean Roller and Dolores Crawford. The seventh grade left the class as the previous year, but in the eighth grade Cecilia Marciniak, Lorne Van Camp, and Beverly Mathison, joined us. The seventh and eighth grades brought our class up in the assembly with the high school. We were then getting a broader view of the years ahead of us. When we became Freshmen, Adrienne Grzadzieleski, Bob Morrison, Jean Larson, Jean Rath, Dolores Thompson, joined our class, with Ronnie Anderson leaving us. In our Sophornore year no one joined our class but we lost Davidean Roller, Dolores Thomp- son, Dolores Boulduc, Lawrence La Haise, Tommy Dryden, Bobby Morrison, and Lorne Van Camp. This made quite a hole in our enrollment, but the gap was filled with many activities, in which our class began to take a major part. Our Junior year was begun with 20 in our class, Cal Lang was the only new student added, com- ing during the first semester from- Pembina. We had rnany more interests now, but the most important were our class play and prom. Our Senior year leaves us with 18 pupils, with Dolores Crawford moving to California, and Kenney Schumacher attending school at Crookston. Those being left now are: Leslie Engelbrektson, Kathryn Ferguson, Adrienne Grzadzieleski, Jerry Jorde, Cal Lang, Jean Larson, Cecilia Marciniak, Beverly Mathison, Clair Maurstad, Donna Nelson, Clarence Peterson, Angie Raney, Jean Rath, Jo Rudnick, Pat Rutherford, Doris Schumacher, Connie Simmons, and Jim Stewart. We are now taking our last step of high school, after which many will go on to college, and 'many will get jobs, but all will be fac ing a challenging world. We are sure we have been well prepared in good old D. H. S. to meet the new life before us. 7
