. . We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created free and equal and are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Free and equal. . . pursuit of happiness. We believe that Americans can claim these honored rights and freedom only if they are unhampered by ignorance and superstition; freedom and happiness are so much a state of mind. In appreciation and gratitude, therefore, for the many educational privileges and opportunities that are ours, we dedicate this 1951 -52 Valley Echo to our school and to those who have made it possible, most especially our parents, who have provided for and encouraged us when we were low in spirits .
