CLASS POEM Fellow classmates pause a moment And consider while you may Our school days here w ill soon be over And bigger things before us lay Through our future years of wandering Don ' t forget those hours of gold But recall with loving memories All the happiness each hour did hold Of the many hours of study Of the cramlng for Exams Seeing visions of ourselves now In our graduating gowns Listen to the merry laughter Echoing in the old famaliar hall Time awaits us in the future Do not falter, do not fall We have studied of great country-men Such as Washington, Lincoln, and Lee One of you, my dear classmates Kay be like one of these What the future holds for each one No one will ever know We are young and know so little Where ' s the place for us to go There are many opportunities Far beyond the school room door And may each and every one of us Find the work he is suited for Commencement -- the beginning Not the ending of our strife But the road that leads us onward To bigger better life So long to all the teachers Who have instructed us so well And to you my dear classmates I must now say farewell Rachel Snavley
