Now, as we reflecT on The subiecT of our own advancemenT. we come To The realizaTion ThaT Tour years oT high school Training has had iTs indelible eTTecT upon us. We have been educaTed wiTh The TacTs abouT The world in which we live. We undersTand The TuncTioning of our government we can use, To The besT advanTage. our English language: we know someThing of The business meThods employed Today. We may well Take pride in being so TorTunaTe as To live in This modern age when men look forward and Train Themselves Tor a glorious TuTure! Draper. wiTh iTs many club and class acTiviTies, has given us The opporTuniTy To develop our special abiliTies. We have been Tossed inTo one large mixing bowl-our school-and sTirred unTil we are so closely relaTed ThaT everyone is an inTimaTe Triend oT each of his classmaTes. BuT This mixing bowl TreaTmenT has noT been Too hard on us, Tor even now we glow wiTh enThusiasm over our social developmenT. Dances. games. and enTerTainmenTs have aTTorded us opporTuniTies To ioin The crowd and share iTs pleasures. Four years ago. we were ToTal sTrangers To one anoTher. We came in small groups Trom This elemenTary school and ThaT. Today, we are an organized class-a class wiTh uniTy oT spiriT! ForTunaTely, ThaT unified spiriT has noT meanT unified characTer. Our characTers are alike only in ThaT They have been aTTecTed greaTly by Those of our classmaTes. ConsTanT associaTion wiTh varied Types of people has acquainTed us wiTh The ways QT The world and iTs inhabiTanTs. These relaTions wiTh oThers have also impressed upon and developed wiThin us The finer sTandards oT characTer. The Tireless eTTorTs oT our Teachers have embodied wiThin us such desirable TraiTs as responsibiliTy, eTTiciency, and iniTiaTive.
