With the proposed schedule in hand, Gerrie patiently waits along with other students to go through the registration line. ...to Rigors of Registration, With orientation week 'finally over, the new students found something else confronting them-registration. Because freshmen are the lowest rung on the four year ladder, they were the last to register. One by one, the new students got into line to meet their advisors and work out programs for the year. Upperclassmen and the D Club men were again on hand to give helpful guidance and indelible lipstick marks to the incoming freshmen. However, after several revisions of their schedules and changes in schools, the new students were soon on their way to becoming true Drake col- legians. With tired feet and weary minds, the freshmen went back to their dorms to rest up for the start of classes. Introduces Students J l . More questions led to a desk especially set-up for found her answers. The September crop of freshmen at Drake was a large one following the trend of increased college enrollment. The growing enrollment caused' fuller -...f information and here Gerrie Each freshman took his turn with the nurse and the needle. Much of the credit can be given to the care- fully planned orientation program which helped the new students get acquainted with the school. Some of the activities involved were tests, a round of receptions, meetings with advisors and that much dreaded physi- cal examination. No new student had time to miss the familiar home ground with such a busy schedule. In a few short days, the paths of the campus which seemed so puzzling at first, became well traveled ones. Tests were a part of college even before classes began. dorms, longer lines at the dining hall and with orders at the book store. The class of 1962 was well on its way.
