SHOWTIME REVUE The lights dimmed, the curtains opened, and out stepped a chorus of boys to sing Hallelujah. That was the opening of our senior musical, Show- time Review. We certainly worked hard for that night. All of those practices we had! One a day for almost two months. Of course, that's not saying how much work we put into them! Actually things didn't really begin to click until three weeks before the show was to be put on. That's when everyone realized how close the date was and how awful we really were! I think everyone had the jitters that night, especially after having seen how the dress rehearsal worked out! No one knew his lines, the lights kept going out, the acts didn't go on in the riht orde1', and confusion just seemed to hold the upper hand. Oh well, it would be all over with soon, anyway. What a relief it was to have the general dancing start! The audience was really a record breaker as far as social events go at the school. I don't know where the usher- ettes put everyone, for there were al- most Iour hundred people there! Just about all of the acts were good- I think every one will agree to that, but there isn't room enough to mention all of them, so here are a few of the best, MY BUDDY The girls in this act did a swell job on harmonizing--and they looked just as good as they sounded, too. Eddie Furtado did Bing Crosby's theme song justice, and then chimed in with Annette Beaulieu in a very pretty duet-backed by the girls' chorus. Very tricky! NONSENSE SCHOOL Miss Riley, and with red hair too! What more can be said? Norman Hamel stole this act with his brick red curls and falling arches-to say nothing of those lumpy things he called stockings! Or were those his shapely legs? He was well backed by John Twarog, a Jewish boy, Francis Nolin, a cute darkieg Chet Pet- kiewicz, a perfect farmer fwith an up-country drawllg and the script, which he studied throughout the play, concealing it as schoolwork! GOLDEN EAR-RINGS Janice Russell and Ken Silva did a bang up job as a singing and dancing duo. They were naturals in the parts of gypsy lovers!
