Mike Finnerty and Paul Johnson formed the nucleus around which Coach Slawson built his team with Jim Shaw the only other member of the squad with game experience. The Junior Eagles upset a fav- ored Roscoe quintet and held the strong Academy five to a nine-point win. The high point of the season was at Andes as the boys eked out a one point victory. Fleischmanns 5.44 fb- . . VARSITY After all the smoke and noise cleared away, it was discovered that the Eagles had won seven games while losing eleven, While this record is not overly impressive, still the boys had earned the right to play the winner of the other section of our league to determine the class D representative to the Section IV Basketball Tournament. This play-off game was probably the highlight of the season, as our boys played one of their better games that night and extended Fleischmann's to the limit in an overtime victory for Fleischmann's, Fleischmann's then went on to win the class D section lV Basket- ball Championship. So the old familiar cry of wait till next year, is all that is left for our 1955-56 basketball season. Our squad consisted of six seniors, which will mean a rebuilding iob next year. Of the seniors, Harold and Jack performed creditably the entire season, with Harold proving to be the most prolific Pix-f Wfvvv scorer-Jerry came in with some good games during mid-season, and the remainder were very loyal and filled in where needed. The returning members of the squad which will be the nucleus around which next year's team will be built are R. Brown, who did a good iob after becoming eligible in January, R. Tillapaugh, R. Doig, and B. Bryden. We wish these boys the best of luck for next year. VARSITY BASKETBALL STATISTICS Total Games Points Played Player FG FTA FTM Pct.
