Q CARL STEPP Superintendent AVA BATES Secretary To The Students of Downs Schools - One of the important high lights of the school ls the keeping of records of the important happenings during the school year. Your annual serves as that purpose. As you lea ve Dow ns Public School, your annual becomes your record of the school year. It also means much more, it means that you had a place in one of the greatest edu- cational agencies in the world. A good educa- tion is one of the highest accomplishments a person can earn. In our democratic form of government each person has an opportunity to attend a free public school. If you cherish this opportunity, then it becomes your responsibility to see that our way of government and our edu- cational system is not changed. As you leave and take your place in the world, remember the important things your school has tried to develop. Remember that human re- lations - respecting the other fellow 's rights are an important part of our way of life. May your future be so planned that youlead a full and enjoyable life.
