In March of rhis year the school community wos stunned ond soddened by the sudden passing of Mr. Charles Shogren. our PRO ond Career Experience Director Mr Shogren wos the generating force os well os the driving power behind these two programs. Mr. Shogren s energy ond direction were fontosric. It wos he who inirioted the holidoy food drive program At rrock meets, it wos Mr Shogren who did the announcing Aside from his other contributions to school. Mr Shogren will be remembered for the Intensity with which he stood up for his beliefs ond the dignity with which he treated his students He wos on example of mony fine qualities, ond we oil learned from him. Charles J. Shogren'' A man of coring, A mon of love Charles J. Shogren. A mon of mony rolenrs He showed rhe students life And whor they would come to face. He taught them to fight their feors. And to fight for whor they believed in. At school he based his life On helping rhe students, Pushing them to graduate And talking to them of matters They could not folk about with anyone else. He shored his time ond life With oil of rhe students. Mr. Charles J. Shogren Much loved Missed By Downingrown Senior High School. Why does if seem like rhe good always pass owoy The ones who olwoys seem to core in every little way A mon of jolly spirits nothing brought him down If ever there wos o problem he would olwoys be around Spirits so full of happiness he olwoys hod a smile Why did he hove to leave so soon couldn't he stay awhile? u R M h n Each year, it is rhe privilege of rhe graduating class to select the person it would like to honor through rhe dedication of the yearbook. In general, this is o person who hos been more than a classroom teacher to rhe members of rhe doss. This year, rhe doss of 1985 of Downingrown High School is proud to dedicate Our Year to retiring principal, Raymond Di Serafino. Mr. DiSerafino hos constantly worked toward attaining the best for rhe school that in many ways, really is his school. Many students con look bock on conversations with Mr. DiSerafino where the depth of his concern for Downingrown students wos apparent. Others con remember casual conversations about their work on o ream or their progress in o production. Mr DiSerafino hos gone on record rime after rime storing his objectives for rhe school. One that he hos received praise for centers around rhe attitude of friendliness and happiness that he works hard to establish. The Class of 1985 wishes to recognize this ond to honor Mr. Di Serofino with rhe dedication of our yeorbook. We leave him with just one question, How's your behavior? DEDICATION 1985
