The School Board And Administrative Advisors Make The state or quality of freedom is usually associated with the absence of undesirable conditions such as want, fear, repression, restrictions, control or hindrance. Historically the quest for such freedom has been a foundation for Western Civilization and a basis for American Democracy. Although political, religious and economic freedoms have not been achieved completely, the greatest opportunity for humanistic gains is probably in the area of freedom from self. Man's preoccupation with himself, his apparent unwillingness to cooperate with the natural world and his inability to live without conflict in the human family are the greatest hindrances to true freedom. Each of us is responsible for freeing himself and for cooperating with nature and mankind so that real and universal freedom can be achieved. CHARLES M. MICKEN Superintendent of Schools SCHOOL BOARD SEATED: Mr Vernon Jameson.Mr. Roger Antrim. Mrs. Mary Sheridan (Secretary), Mr S. Warren Supplee STANDING: Mr. Chester W Martin. Mr. Glen E. Wagner (President). Mr Melvin Cohen. Mr. Raymond Williams (Vice President), Mr. Harley Fink, Mr Robert HadfiekJ (Treasurer), Dr. Charles M. Micken (Superintendent). 20
