Enjoyment, affection, richness, understanding, and gratitude: These are just a few of the words that I associate with my experience in Brazil. I give special thanks to A.F.S. and all the people who contributed to helping me have this opportunity. An experience which I'll always remember. The warm and loving people will always be in my mind. People where there was no color barrier but what was in your heart that counted. People whose affection and good will was generated to those who surrounded them. Thanks again everyone for giving me this golden opportunity. Diane Carter I only wish that I could be capable of describing my summer of 1970. Fantastic? Educational? Fun? Oh yes, and even more! Words could not explain the friendships that grew there or the warmth that was felt while being a part of my Turkish family. Just try to imagine the excitement of living and sharing with others who truly care and maybe then you will understand more about my summer as an AFS student. 1 My home is in Adelaide, the capital city of South Australia. I am the eldest of four boys in the family and when I return home I will study to be a teacher at the Salisbury Teachers College. This year for me has been the best of my life and I would like to thank the faculty and all my friends here at D.H.S. for allowing me the opportunity to work with you.
