Page Fifty-nine THE cucecc Page Sixty Jfi aturi's Page Sixty-one THE CLICK©© Butterman is a charming chap, Always acting like sap. He flirts with all the girls, especially Milly, Because the others think him too silly. Famous comedians spent hours of their time thinking of outfits to cause laugh riots, while Freshmen do it without any effort whatever. Miss Watkins: “Why do you spell pneumatic ‘newuratic ? LaVerne: “Because the 'h' on my typewriter isn't working. Janet: “Heard about the new two-piece bathing suits?” Midge: “No. Janet: “A piece here and a piece there.” Old Lady: If you really work—farmer Grey needs a right hand man. Chink: “Just my luck—'Im left-handed. SAM PECK Page Sixty-two THE CLICHE© Miss Gross:‘‘Betty, did you take a shower?” Betty Eachus: “No, teacher. I never stole anything in my life. When did you first miss it?” Lib Murray: “I see they have invented fire proof paper.” Bert Jefferies: “Fine, now I can write of my burning love to you.” They call Butterman “Dynamite” because he’s always shooting off his mouth. Duer Smedley: “He called me a liar and as big as he was, 1 knocked him sprawling.” Mickey Rimel: “With your fist?” Duer: “No, with my car.” Mildred Deputy: “I found you intoxicated in a sink of iniquity.” Jack Forbes: “I beg your pardon; I was porcelain.” A LOVE STORY Canoe, Couple, Cupid, Congratulations, Car, Church, Choral Cake, Champagne, Confetti, Contented. ODE TO A PENCIL I know not where thou art. I only know That thou went on my desk Beautiful and content A moment back. Some heartless wretch With thee, went west, I know not who it was, Nor shall I ask. Perchance It may have been The Guy I stole it from. SOFT SOAP He: “May I hold your palm, Olive?” She: “Not on your Life Buoy! You're out of Lux, Novy formed. Micky says that she doesn't mind school, it’s the principal of the thing. Page Sixty-tliree THE CUCHCC I.OIS BROWN I )rew Maclntire: “Lillian, do you love me? Lillian Paige: “Yes.” Drew: “Would you be willing to live on my income?” Lillian: “Yes, if you'll get another for yourself.” Dick Rittenbaugh :“Did you like the show?” Charles McCaughey: “I asked you first.” Mary Norris: “Oh! these awful nights.” Bus Phillips: “But they are wonderful nights to be weak.” We’d surely like To smack the clown Who insists on shouting “I faw down.” A new discovery took place in the shower room the other day. Bill Butterman found a hair on his chest. J. Miller: “Oh, I just hit my crazy bone.” Helen Tweed: “You poor boy, you must hurt all over.” Thelma: “Do you care for dancing?” Ruth: “No.” Thelma: “Why not?” Ruth: “It’s merely hugging set to music.” Thelma: “Well, what is there about it you don’t like? Ruth: “The music.” LOVELY NATURE The Jackass he are a lovely bird, He hair are long and thick, He are mostly ears, and head, But a lot of he are kick. The reason that the Scotch do not like a Scotch joke is that they are always at their expense. Page Sixty-four THE CLCI €€ Mrs. Reist (irately to Mr. Reist): “Another word out of you and I shall he a widow.” Caom: “I have changed my mind.” Ruth: Does it work any better?” SENIOR SOPHISTICATION Photographer: “Look at the camera now and see the little dickey bird.” Dignified Senior: “Don’t be so absurd! Expose your plate and let’s get this thing over with.” Our idea of a man really going down to defeat is one with fallen arches. Dick: “Has a man ever kissed you before?” Dotty: “Y-yes.” Dick: “Tell me who it was so I can beat him up.” Dotty: “He might be too many for you.” Margaret Ann is a good kid. She would given you the shirt off her back. Our idea of an easy job—Garbage Collector in Scotland. Ella: “I hear Pat is complaining about her heart.” Midge: “Oh, yes, Dick is the cause of that.” Dick: “Why do you call my girl a silent bell?” Wayne: “Because I kissed her the other night and she never told.” Evelyn: “Where are you working now?” Dick: “American Stores.” Evelyn: Oh, you’re one of the chain gang.” DON’T WE ALL He: “Do you smoke?” She: “No.” He: “Do you drink?” She: No.” He: “Do you neck?” She: “No.” He: “What do you do?” She: “Tell lies.” Page Sixty-five THE CUCHCC Stostrflsi's Helen Hyde Gladys Spence Josephine Danielson Christine Travaglini Margaret Johnson Mary Siieeler Martha Hazel Miller Betty Yost Helen Good Charlotte Welsh Doris Taylor Virginia Johnson Englerth ICihrarimta Mildred Deputy Betty Rossi Elizabeth Murray Elizabeth Carpenter Betty Pollock Lois Brown Margaret Johnson Wm.
