Why does Mr. Smith always call on me? What college wants me? These and other questions constantly keep our counselors in a tizzy. Our counselors have proven to be our personal friends. They've encouraged us when we're lackingg they've arranged our programs to meet our desiresg and they've listened intently to every type ol problem from bad grades to marriage. Besides their concern for us, the counselors have also helped our parents and teachers. At DSHS each counselor begins with a class in its sophomore year and stays with it until that class graduates. ln this way the counselors are able to aquaint themselves better with the students and their problems. 5: 0 'f' JEAN A. rough the ejjorta of iheae. At the top of the list of administrators at Downey Senior High is Mr. Kenneth O. Esping, Principal, who is responsible for all facets of our school life. Perhaps your have come in contact with Mr. John Warren, Vice Principal, who is in charge of all matters involving disipline. Actually, his fob is not an easy one, for he must see that each student is treated fairly and squarely. If you have ever seen Mr. A.H. Shiney, Director of Activities, for more than a minute at a time, consider yourself lucky. He works hand-in-hand with the Student Council, and is constantly on the go to see that things are working out smoothly. The girls at DSHS are especially indebted to Mrs. Karyn Sanders, Dean of Girls, Registrar, and Advisor to Girls' League. She helps them plan the many activities and programs which add to the pleasure of school life. Aiding in the administration office are Mrs. Ann Rogers, secretary to the principal, and Mrs. Grace Lane, book keeper for the student body funds. Mr. A.H.
