To Attoin Our Goals .NN MR. CLARENCE BACHA Director of Child Welfare and Attendance Remember that time when you were iust too sick to come to school? Every time this happens, it is the iob of Mr. Bacha and the attendance office staff to find out why you are not in school, and when you'll be back. They also take care of all the passes to leave the school grounds, keep the records which enable our school to get state funds on the basis of average daily attendance, and assign detention to those who iust can't seem to get enough school during the regular six periods. This ff :BTW MRS. Cl.ETlCE BROWN School Nurse year the attendance office installed a new system of recording absences which has simplified things a great deal. Every time you stub your toe, get a tummy-ache, or feel ius! too, too tired you become one of the thousands who come in contact with the services of the school nurse, Mrs. Cletice Brown. This year one of her big iobs was arranging the series of polio vaccine inoculations and another was arrang- ing the chest X-rays to detect cases of tuberculosis. Guiding Us On MR. ED BRAGG MRS. MARGARET WEST MR. WILLIAM WALKER Senior Class Counselor Junior Class Counselor Sophomore Class Counselor What courses should I take next year? How do I stand In practice, one counselor usually begins with a class in the on credits toward a diploma? What are the college entrance requirements for the school I want to enter? What can I do to make my son get better grades? ls Johnny having trouble in his other subiects? Students, parents and teachers alike make use of the time and advice of the class counselors, whose principal concern is to see that each student receives the class schedule best suited to his needs. sophomore year, and carries through until that class graduates. Thus Mr. Bragg has been counselor for the class of 1957 since the fall of 1954, when they entered as sophomores. Until this year Mr. Walker had been counselor to each senior class, but will retire at the end of this school year. Mrs. West has been counselor to the class of 'I958 since their sophomore year.
