Vtfhat keeps a school plant functioning from day to day throughout the school year? lt takes the work of many people, each with specific jobs to do, to make it possible for us to have clean class- rooms and campus, rooms which are warm in winter and cool in summer, pencil sharpeners that work lmost ot the time at leastl, buses to bring students to school and back home at the close of day, and myriad other things which make our school lite more pleasant. Directing the work ot these people-bus drivers, cus- todians, repairmen, painters, welders, electricians, carpenters and cabinet makers-is Mr. Thomas Fleming, plant engineer. Keep the running gear slzipsftape malicious mischief-makers destroy school facilities, when tables and chairs have to be provided for special occasions, when professional help is needed in preparing stage settings and program needs, these are the people who are called upon, and never tail. lt would take pages to list all the things they do, main- taining the athletic tields, the swimming pool, the buildings and the grounds. Despite the tact that they do not always get the best of co-operation from some students, they keep the running gear shipshape, and they are a definitely necessary part of our school.
