The Callers direct Congratulations to the Class of l95l l Another school year has come to a c ose and for you seniors, high school days are ended. Your individual scholas- tic achievements have been carefully recorded and evaluated, and your names are listed as members of a graduating class. For each of you this indicates a real m 'asure of success. We hope your high school training has prep red you to think constructively. It has been found that one o the most power- i ful forces in the world today is the mind of man. It is in the x minds and hearts of people that ideas are orn-a force for 5 good or evil. Bad ideas bring death and estruction, good ideas save lives and promote progress. Our country's strength lies in the ability of our people CIY Y to create, express and implement ideas. Shambaugh On the facing page are pictures of those adults who supervise the activities of the students. As Principal of Senior High, Mr. W. J. Wright has many varied duties. He must act as re istrar for all students, help the student with program changes, assist in extra-curricular activities, act :Es boys' coun- selor, and advise the Student Council. Mrs. Karyn B. Sanders, Girls' Counselor, comes in contact with all the girls ofthe student body. She is adviser to both Girls' League and Les Torcheres, and also teaches one class in life science. As Principal of the Central Junior High, Mr. Del Ward has many of the some duties as Mr. Wright including supervision of conduct and attendance. Girls' Counselor of the Central Junior High is Mrs. Ruby Horstmon. She is instrumfntal in plon- ning all assemblies for the girls, supervising Girls' League and counseling the girls. Miss Loring Davis in her second year at Downey has successfully filled the new pIust of attend- ance supervisor. She also issues work permits and advises those students who want td work during school. Serving Senior High, Junior High, and South Junior High, Mrs. Sarah B. Lyance as nurse is kept very busy.
