The passing ot new laws, regulations, approving of club constitutions and virtually all functions concerning or dealing with the student body are dis- cussed and voted upon in the weekly meetings ot student council. Another ot the Councils duties is to sponsor the annual Get-Acquainted Dance, This council consists ot the president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer all elected by the student body as a whole. Second semester only, the Volsung editor holds a position on the council. There is one other office, commissioner of publicity, which is appointed and approved by the council. This year the council carried through on an idea which was begun late last year, the plan of having each home room elect a representative and then all representatives meet once a month with the council. After this. they are to carry back to their classes the ideas, and Dlans of the council, Late this year the council initiated another project which it hopes will be carried on for many years at Downey l-ligh.
