Time We at Downey High feel that the cafeteria staff has done a wonderful job at keeping the students well fed and happy. This staff has fed the students both Senior High and junior High. lvlr, Alvin I. Thuli. lr., came to Downey March l3, l95O, to take the new position of plant engineer. created to centralize many of the duties which had been scattered among various persons. Mr. Thuli is very well qualified to fill this position, He grad- uated from the University of California in i936 with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering: he is a registered professional mechanical engineer in the state of Californiag and is crdited with I3 years general engineering experience in plant maintenace and construc- tion before he came to Downey. Mr. Thuli is in charge of all non-certified employees and is the supervisor of the building program. These people, pictured below. the custodians, bus drivers and main- tenance workers, cannot receive too much credit for the efficient way in which they keep our school running smoothly from day to day.
