R-DIV The Repair Division consists of Hull Maintenance Techs and Damage controlmen. The HT ' s are the general maintenance personnel onboard, trained to fix nearly anything. All they need is some stock, pipe or sheet and you ' ll be set up. Damage controlmen keep the DOWNES floating. Whether it be fire, flooding or battle damage, the DC men are without a doubt, the professionals. Last, but certainly not least, are the Machinery repairmen. MR ' s are trained to manufacture from plain material, almost any integral part of precise machinery such as generators and pumps. The repair Division is diverse, but all act as a team to keep the DOWNES Battle Ready! Left to right, standing: MRC(SW) Ricardo Dizon. HTC(SW) Mark Carlsen. DC2 Willie Fails, DCl Gary Davis, FN Daniel Johnson, HT2 Eric Lun- dering, DCFN Daryl Girnus, FN Brian Szwec, DC2 Dave Shelton, LTJG Will Crook, DCC Brian Hoch, Kneeling: HTFN Tom Escalante, DC FN Jer- emy Voeks

No engineers, no lights and no wake, that simple. There are four divisions in engineering. M Division takes care of the main engine and tons of other equipment. B Di- vision is responsible for making steam in the fireroom. A-Gang takes care of an incredible amount of auxiliary equipment. E division is the caretak- er of the electricity and internal com- munications. Lastly, R Division welds it all back together and fights the unwanted fires and flooding. The engineers are often overlooked in the journals of history, but without them, no ship ever steamed away from the pier and into battle and therefore into history. DAHAGE COJJTROLfiAN (DC) Cheng with both BTC ' s Cheng on watch? No way! Really? . . . Come on ,
