Fine Arts Department Increased interest in art makes this program one of the most popular at South, with one of the largest enrollments in the state. Added this year to the courses previously offered, instruction in weaving has proved quite popular. Shown on this page are some of the decorative projects in weaving, pottery and other art work which have been on display in the halls throughout the year. Surely all of South High's music students will agree that music plays an important part in their day. Many of the students have participated in state contests in either solo or ensemble competi- tion. Independent Study in music is being con- tinued again this year, with several concerts given by students in the program. A Cappella has re- turned to the traditional look with long blue robes, but their repetoire still contains a variety of modern songs. ffl ss N, gf . f . f X7 we X i 2 Mr. Dan Modzelewski, Chairman, School of the Art Institute 7 yrs., Miss Catherine Carr, lll.
