Athletic Department As in any co-curricular program, one objec- tive of athletics is to contribute positively to the goals of education. Basic to the philoso- phy ot the Athletic Department is the need to provide a challenge for the students whose ca- pabilities and interest exceed the require- ments of the normal physical education class. Through its hard work, the department coor- dinates interscholastic and intermural pro- grams, Varsity Club, G.A.A., Cheerleading Fillies and the Boosters. Sportsmanship, ethics and leadership do not evolve naturally, they must be learned and cultivated by example and practice. The Ath- letic Department, which provides the setting for such learning through athletics, is the line that draws school spirit together and puts pride in our MUSTANGS.
