As Dr. Glenn Pickrel's retirement comes upon us, we would like to dedicote these two poges to the importont ond necessory work he hos done os superintendent of Downers Grove Public Schools. Dr. Pickrel supported o vocotionol high school thot would serve DuPoge County students. The fo- cility wos opproved in l97l ond will open its doors to students in September, l974. During his term, tive grode schools ond one high school were built to keep poce with the growing populcition. Two of the grode schools ore open clossroom focilities, o new opprooch to teoching. Also, odditons were constructed on eight educotionol complexes. Dr. Pickrel hos certoinly done much for the Downers Grove educotionol system. Administration and Office Ladies Where would a school be without the administra- tion? Contrary to popular opinion these men and women really work hard to help the students. Let us remember that it was them who solved the problem with Medina Builders last fall and it was also the ad- ministration who spent valuable time trying to improve bus schedules and routes. Even though we take it for granted that they keep the school func- tioning smoothly, let us remember that without them Downers Grove South would not be in existence.
