As Dr. Glenn Pickrel's retirement comes upon us, we would like to dedicote these two poges to the importont ond necessory work he hos done os superintendent of Downers Grove Public Schools. Dr. Pickrel supported o vocotionol high school thot would serve DuPoge County students. The fo- cility wos opproved in l97l ond will open its doors to students in September, l974. During his term, tive grode schools ond one high school were built to keep poce with the growing populcition. Two of the grode schools ore open clossroom focilities, o new opprooch to teoching. Also, odditons were constructed on eight educotionol complexes. Dr. Pickrel hos certoinly done much for the Downers Grove educotionol system.
