The crowd sat watching as the stage was set for the beginning of Cinderella's Palace and the crowning of the l972 Homecoming Royal Court. The most glittering, exciting coronation South's Student Government has ever sponsored was attended by an overwhelming crowd, anx- iously awaiting the glamour and happiness a coro- nation always brings. And, as always, that excite- ment was climcixed by the announcement of each winner. The success ofthe celebration carried just the right atmosphere to start out the Homecoming Weekend at Downers South with a wonderful enthusiasm. Following Cinderella's Palace, South's halls became a miniature Disneyland, as the theme of Disney Down South was brought to life. The masses of people could choose to visit any number of activities, ranging from the Homecoming Show in the Auditorium to an old western saloon, complete with dancing girls and a shoot 'em cowboy gun fight in the Senior Lounge. And, of course, the Gym was packed by the crowds at the mixer. All in all, Friday night was considered to be the perfect preview to yet another day of excite- ment and activity on Saturday. The morning dawned beautiful to see the parade follow a colorful path through town and back to the school. And in the afternoon, the climax of the weekend was reached as the crowd assembled in the stands to witness the kick-off of the spectacular Homecoming Game. an . G.A,A.
