Foreign Language Clubs Any person interested in the Ancient Greeks and Romans was welcome at a Latin Club meeting this past year. lts members partici- pated in roller skating, bowling, and Christmas caroling parties. They had a booth at Homecoming and even visited a Nursing Home to visit with the patients. The Russian Club is open to any student in- terested in Russian culture. Some of this years activities included Russian folk dancing and singing, Ukranian Easter Egg painting, and a trip to see the Beryozka Dance Company. The Spanish Club exists so that students who share a common interest in this language may share in activities. This year the club did much fund raising and had a very popular and suc- cessful taco stand at l-lomecoming. The German Club is another club whose pur- pose is to stimulate interest in a language. As usual the club's super beetle made its ap- pearance in the Homecoming Parade. Slide presentations and German games are some of the activities on the agenda at a meeting. The club's big trip this year was to the Brown Bear Restaurant in Chicago. South's French Club was very active this past school year. The members attended a French play at Rosary College, French movies at Elmhust College, and went to North Central College to see an International Dance Troupe. On Valentine's Day, the club had their tradi- tional Valentine Cookie Delivery and then closed out the year with a trip to a French Res- taurant. one hundred twenty-two LATIN CLUB - D.
