HRT-VURH! Drawing of Mr. Jakes by Denise Keehan. Can you glaze a charcoal drawing? Can you paint wet clay? Can you mold Artista Yellow 4? If you answer yes to any or all of these questions, you obviously have not taken a course in the Art Department at Downers Grove North. If you belong to the class of 1983 you must, at one time or another, experience at least one of the department's wide curriculum. if you intend to graduate. The Art departmen also sponsored Kaliedoscope, an annual open- air musical art fair in May. The Junior Wom- en's Club Scholastic Art awards are sending Jason Harper and Jeff Enge to a U of I work- shop this summer. Next year, if you look for Basic Design, you may find Art I instead. The class change, according to Department Head String Art?? Ron Jakes, will adapt more to the student’s needs and specific interests.'' in composition, design, and printmaking. Mr. Jakes also com- mented about projections for next year. I'd like to get some pride back into everything. Stu- dents can be creative if they're not afraid to be. 26 ART
