RUNNING AHEAD This was our finest season in 23 years. The sophomores finished 3rd in the conference meet, paced by a 1-2 finish by Matt Hampton and Bob Beine. The Varsity ran to a 9th place finish in the state. John MacDonald was the teams MVP and received all-state honors by finishing 10th in the state meet. Scott Rospond was elected the team captain. GOLF The North Highgolf team finished 3rd in the tough West Suburban Conference. Their conference record was 6 wins and 2 losses and the team had 12 wins and only 3 losses for the entire season. Highlights included a 2nd place finish in the State District Tournament. Brian Castro was named Most Valuable Golfer, win- ning his Varsity letter for the third year. Ron Swanson took a 2nd place medal in the State District Tourney, and junior Steve Mikolas won a 7th place medal. The Frosh-Soph team fin- ished 4th in the conference with a record of 5 and 3.
