GOLF The North Highgolf team finished 3rd in the tough West Suburban Conference. Their conference record was 6 wins and 2 losses and the team had 12 wins and only 3 losses for the entire season. Highlights included a 2nd place finish in the State District Tournament. Brian Castro was named Most Valuable Golfer, win- ning his Varsity letter for the third year. Ron Swanson took a 2nd place medal in the State District Tourney, and junior Steve Mikolas won a 7th place medal. The Frosh-Soph team fin- ished 4th in the conference with a record of 5 and 3. RUNNING AHEAD This was our finest season in 23 years. The sophomores finished 3rd in the conference meet, paced by a 1-2 finish by Matt Hampton and Bob Beine. The Varsity ran to a 9th place finish in the state. John MacDonald was the teams MVP and received all-state honors by finishing 10th in the state meet. Scott Rospond was elected the team captain.
