1970 Homecoming with its Roaring 20's theme represented the culmination of months of work and planning under the di- rection of Mrs. Diane Erpenbach and Miss Holly Harden, faculty sponsors, and student co-chairmen, Rick Ruthhardt and Sue Thom- sen. Homecoming festivities began with the Powder Puff Game on Wednesday, October 14, which resulted in a victory for the sen- iors. Excitement mounted, as students went about the usual frenzied pre-Homecoming activities of getting dates, building floats, and selecting just the right fashions for the dance. Tears of joy and tears of disappointment were mingled as the king, queen, and their court were announced Friday morning at the pre- game pep assembly. After school the traditional Homecoming parade made its way down Main Street and at night the Trojan varsity team regrettably lost to the Proviso Panthers. The girls' gym was transformed into Carstensville, Saturday evening at the Homecoming dance, Those Were the Days, as couples danced to the music of Don Carone and His Orchestra.
