Studies in the NATURAL SCIENCE DEPARTMENT provide a sound basis for future specialized studies and an understanding of practical applications. In addition to fundamental subjects of biology, physical science, chemistry, and everyday chemistry, college-level courses in biology and chemistry are offered to qualified stu- dents who plan to follow related careers. Also, for the second successful year, the modern physics course of the Physical Science Study Committee of M.I.T. is being taught in place of the traditional physics course.
