DRIVER EDUCATION DRIVER EDUCATION MR. FRANK RIDDIESBERGER—Head of Department. Northern Illinois University B A 18 years: MR. RALPH CRESSEY. Colorado State College. M.A.. 29 years. OFFICE STAFF Answering telephones, keeping attendance records, taking dictation, counting money—these are just a few of the dozens of tasks executed daily by the members of the unusually efficient office staff at DCHS. Through their able hands pass program cards, mimeograph stencils, lost fountain pens, transfer slips, locker assignments, college applications, room keys, dollar bills, and four cent stamps. As is the case in any large business, the school could not function smoothly without the office staff. This year, in addition to the traditional junior first aid and freshman health courses, a sophomore course in classroom driver education has been added to the physical education curriculum. This indoor training, extending from three to six weeks, is given by physical education teachers to both boys and girls. After completing the indoor course and receiving a State instruction permit, behind-thc-whccl instruction is offered in the department's three dual-control training automobiles by a staff of well-trained instructors headed by Mr. Frank Riddlcsbcrgcr. The reward for ten weeks of hard work spent in learning to drive is the coveted driver's license. Charlotte J. Hitzeman R.N.—Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing School Nurse 28 OFFICE STAFF MRS.
