PHYSICAL EDUCATION New facilities have enabled the Physi- cal Education Department to widen its program. The new gymnasium is being used by the boys, and the older gymnasium is used by the girls. Six new teachers have joined the department. Special health classes for freshmen and sophomores and first aid for the juniors have been provided. These classes teach the students how to maintain good health and act calmly in case of an emergency. The students are taught techniques to develop skills in such activities as volley- ball, wrestling, basketball, apparatus, tram- poline, modern and folk dancing, baseball, track, and body mechanics. All of these activities give the students opportunity for recreation as well as sportsmanlike competition with their fellow students. MISS IRENE KRAJEWSKI. University of Colorado.
