Sophomore Class Officers Bruce lurgenson Treasurer lerry Hunsburgcr Secretary lohn Deering President Not Pictured Bill Manley Vice President CLOWNING AROUND Although the shox ing te make in the Football Rush is rather discouraging we the class of 54 make a comeback with a swell ,arty for the Freshies The games are well organized and the refreshments are enjoyed The grand march is the highlight of the eve n ng with many of the k s participating ln the main ring we find John Doering who is a new member in our class ths year as President As ns stand in the Vice president w have Bill Man! t Bill Ief school in the middle of the year however, a replacement was not made Jerry Hunsburger is our illus tnous secretary and Bruce Jurgenson has his problems as treasurer On Student Council we have Ada Tart John Deering Shirley Steinke and Eddie Riest Ponnie Pugsley and Ha old Peters who are also on Student Council e ceive thei is fear ln the sports light our reserve basketball and foot ball squads are made up almost entircl, o sophomores. ln football ie have John Deering nd Dick Gillen as outstanding players with Bill Manley on Varsity and Dick Cuillen playing part-time Varsity In basketball Eddie Riest is outstanding on the reserve Squad A Viumbef o Soph boys are also out for spring sports and con tribute to the success of teams Our class is well represented in many of the high school clubs Band Mixed Chorus and Symphonettes F FA and F l-lA GAA Youth Council Ushers Club Spanish and Latin Club and WAHOO all claim the interests of more than one sophomore Several of the girls received their first Ds in G A A and the kids Again this year in the Penny Carnival we increase our bank a count by some dollars Our Kangaroo Court which is cleverly set up by the girls is a big success lnteresting wanted signs portraying the teachers are posted outside the Court room Two of our other booths are the bean guess and the telegram service Our able advisors this year are Olga Shewchuck Lynette Olez and Charles Krieoer who are always ready to help us with our problems We hope that our next two years may be as suc cessful and as much fun as this one and that we may solve our problems to the best of our ability. We are looking forward to our Junior year under the big top with great expectations.
