This club along with the commercial courses a student may take help her immensely in the business world. The aims of the Commercial Club are to acquaint the student of Central High School with the opportunities offered by the Business Education Department and to create an interest in the business world. The sponsor of the club is Miss Elaine Sheltraw and it is agreed she has done much to promote this organization. The Commercial Club was newly formed this year. lt's Constitution has been approved and recognized by the Student Council. The othcers are: president, Dolores, Love, the vice-president, Nancy Anderson, secretary, Sally Beebeg treasurer, Eleanor Rassmussen. With their able navigation we are ready to pull up anchor. The Commercial Club has just purchased as one of its projects, a new Ediphone Transcribing unit. It is very useful and it is very much appreciated by the whole Commercial Department aboard ship. To be a member you have to be a senior. During the drive, any Senior carrying one or more commercial subjects may join. Any Iunior graduating with the Senior Class carrying one or more com- mercial subjects also may become a member. The monthly dues of this club are paid to the treasurer during the meetings which are held twice a month. The membership drive is sponsored by the office-practice members of the club. Following the drive is the initiation of the new members also at which the ofhcers are elected and recognized. 17 Sponsored by the Commercial Club throughout the year are Candy Sales and other money-making programs. This year, like last, the club took a trip. Last year they went to Chicago and had a very enjoyable time as they did this year. Log Keepers Faithfully devoting their sacred time to the future of their club, the juniors' Shorthandl :lass is doing their best and succeeding in making their club a success.
