This hilarious comedy marked the first time since 1960 that a fall play has been done at Dover. Under the direction of Rob Mains and Laura Thwaites, both teachers at East Dover, Good Night, Ladies” had a cast and crew of about 20 high school students. These actors and set-builders put in long hours four times a week for two months in order to make the comedy the success it was. Below: Ken Cenicola and Jay Jardine exhibit their best lady like behavior. Right: Jessica Sisto as Helen. Far right: Jay Jardine and Ken Cenicola drag Randy Davis after one of his fainting fits. The side-splitting plot centered around Helen and Jane Raleigh who avoid losing their dormitory by persuading their brother, Sam, and Jane’s boyfriend, Jug Brown, to dress up in women’s clothes and im-personate their aunts as chap-erones. Among the best parts throughout the play, was George West who kept fainting at unfortunate moments, Dean Eggleby, the kiss scene between Sam and Lulu, and Jug’s line about the frog — “We fed him peanuts and he lived in a tree!” Right: Jessica Sisto watches as Greg Allison hands Mary Beth Fritch a telegram. On May 2,1986, the junior class and the Ashaki Dancers sponsored a fashion show entitled, A Spring Affair . The show was held in the auditorium and clothes from several stores in the Rockaway Townsqaure Mall were modeled. In between the different clothing categories several talent acts were able to perform. The finale of the show was a small dance number performed by the models in the evening wear category. The whole show was choreographed by Patti Misyak and without Mrs. Smith’s and Mrs. Towns’ organization the show would not have been as successful as it was. Besides the printing and selling of tickets, and the selecting and fitting of the clothes, everyone involved with the show had to attend the many rehearsals held after school during the week of the show. Overall the show was a great success. Above: Chris Peer escorts Sandra Kurz during the formal wear finale.
