The annual International Festival for 1986 was held in the Dover High School cafeteria in April of the same year. The festival was organized by Mr. Nazzaro, the foreign language department chairman. All foreign language classes in the school participated in the preparation of the festival, not only in decorating but in organizing different cultural variety acts to perform the night of the festival. Entertainment was supplied by a Columbian dance group that performed the Cumbia, and Ashaki Dancers who danced to the popular song “Can’t you feel the beat within my heart.” Also performing was the Morristown International Folk Dancers who entertained the audience with Greek, German and Israeli dances. ®@©iigo©[fii Bottom: Kathy Mendez and Diana Olmedo perform the Cumbia. The psychology class and club deals with human behavior and topics of the human mind. For one class project each student becomes a parent to an egg for a week. This gives the student an idea of the responsibility involved with being a parent. The students pick a slip of paper from a box to see if their egg is male, female, or twins. The “parent must protect the egg from getting abused or broken during the week. Another activity is a trust experiment. The students have to trust their friend or partner to guide them safely around the school grounds as they are blindfolded. The Psychology club is composed of students who have taken or are enrolled in the the psychology class. Various trips outside of school are to institutions such as Greystone State Hospital and a trip to Green Wilderness. At Green Wilderness the students are shown some physical activities that helped them realize their self image. Activities 21
