f [hi® !®ntt From the very beginning the band had many high hopes and anticipations for the coming year. It was mainly this positive attitude that enabled the band to work well together, even in the early stages, and to produce one of the best bands that this school has ever seen. During band camp, which took place the week of Aug. 18, the leadership and cooperation of the members was evident. For five days, basics, music and routines were drilled into everyone. Even when the sun was at its hottest or believe that the band is like a second family when you see all the time everyone puts into it. Hopefully we will be able to go on our dream trip to Florida.” says senior Patti Misyak. This years repertoire consisted of “Show Down”, The Love Theme from St. Elmo’s Fire”, “Stompin at the Savoy” and “Cherish.” These songs were relaxing, but still exciting enough with a beat that could linger in one's memory for a while. This year the marching band drum majors were Marianne @®§ ©ouS the rain was at its wettest the band was still able to accomplish something that has never been done during the six years that Mr. Zatorski has been director, and that was to roughly, but completely finish the whole half-time show by the end of the week. Out of all the activities in our school, there is one that especially promotes a sense of togetherness. Between practice in school and events out of school, band members are constantly pushed together. “It’s not hard to Regelski and Cathy Magliocchetti. Both were partly responsible for pushing every member to his limits during the marching season. Further leadership and assistance was found in the band officers, Lara Loory (librarian), Cathy Magliocchetti (treasurer), Michele Secco (secretary), Cherie Police (vice president) and Patti Misyak (president), and seniors Conney Berger, who helped to intimidate the underclassmen, and Chuck Anthony, who added a little bit of humor in all of the rehearsals. 16 Activities
