Tin's year’s cheerleaders are, left to right: Midge Heilenbach, Anita Nazzaro, Pauline Papetti, Judy MacKinnon (Co-Capt.), Mary Pinder (Capt.), Jo-Ann Curnow, Pat Van Kirk, Elaine Lovito, Jeanne Tucker, Pudgie Lcpore. Cheerleaders The activities of the cheerleaders include preparing pep rallies and posters for football games. The main object of the cheerleaders is to support the team and promote school spirit. As a climax of the season, a big pep rally is planned in preparation for the important Thanksgiving game.

Photography Club Advisers..... Mr. Tuevo Airola Mr. Walter Rentsch The purpose of the Photography Club is to teach the skills of this art to the students. They learn to operate cameras as well as to develop and enlarge prints. Taking pictures of school activities for the papers is one of their chief projects. They also participate in photographic contests. Spanish Club Adviser.....Mrs. Erma Riccardi The purpose of the Spanish Club is to practice Spanish in a more social and informal atmosphere. At the meetings only Spanish is spoken. Spanish music and games are played and the members learn the various folk dances, customs, and traditions of Spanish speaking countries. Pep Club Adviser Miss Roberta Bramhall The Pep Club is composed of girls interested in promoting school spirit during the football season. Each week the girls busied themselves by painting eye-catching posters. On Thursdays these posters perked up the hallways of DHS, reminding students of the approaching game. As a special service the girls mimeographed the more popular cheers and distributed them to the freshman homerooms. The Pep Club loudly supported their home team in the grandstand. A section was roped off at the home games for this purpose.

Color Guard The Color Guard always adds much color and serenity to the band and the show at football games. This year’s squad worked well together as a unit. The captain is Carol Francisco. Other members arc Barbara Nazzaro, and Karen Bar-wicke. Substitutes are Carol Lindale and Janice Kilgore. Drill Team The Drill Team is a new addition at football games and parades. This small but versatile group of seventeen girls performed most excellently throughout the year, adding much color and variety to the football games. Katherine Bald and Carole Hahn are the co-captains, both doing an excellent job of training this group. naiTTwirlers The Twirling Squad displayed ' exceptional talent and varied routines throughout the football season. This group was cap- tained by Frances Sakala who showed fine leadership ability. The Head Majorette, Valerie Halter, led the band for the past two years with outstanding showmanship and ability. 23
