DEDICATION The youth of today is the hope of tomorrow. This statement presents a stirring challenge to youth. It means that we shall be the mothers and fathers, the teachers and ministers, and the businessmen and factory workers of tomorrow. It means that all the responsibilities that our parents hold today will be resting on our shoulders, tomorrow. In order to adequately meet this challenge, youth must have the opportunity to develop mentally, spiritually, and physically. Such growth is afforded through activities which permit us to explore interests, develop talents, and grow in spiritual stature. For these purposes youth organizations exist. Aware of the challenge, and conscious of our oppor- tunities, we dedicate the 1954 Swirl to YOUTH AND YOUTH ORGANIZATIONS. May each serve the other to the advantage of mankind.

Mrs. Rosalia M. Caputo Secretary to Superintendent MR. D. C. LEMMON Superintendent of Schools As we, the Dover High School seniors of 1954, project ourselves into the future, we realize how much the opportunities we have had at Dover High will enable us to meet the problems and situations we encounter in life. We know, too, that the faculty and administration have been a major factor in helping us to see the need for a good education and that they have provided us the means for acquiring this education. They have helped us to see the values of good sportsmanship, to develop a sense of responsibility, and to become dependable, useful citizens as we go Out of This World, into the world of tomorrow, where we will take our places in the community.
