% Fellow Students, This is the Critan Broadcast of 1946. Critan is the authentic record in pictures of life in Dover High School immediately following World War II. The name Critan means Crimson Tornado Annual and was coined by Joe and John Richardson of the Class of 1946. Herein is a photographic broadcast of students and teachers at work side by side in classrooms, laboratories, and shops. Critan records the stories of good fellowship among classmates of Dover High School and of the beginning of their careers. When in after years you turn the pages of this book, you will agree that there were no hours in Dover High School that were not sun-lit with the Hope of more abundant living in a Peacetime World made safe by the Defenders of Democracy. And These Dead Shall Not Have Died in Vain To the boys of Dover High School who have so gallantly given their lives for their country, we proudly dedicate this book. The 114 members of this year’s graduating class are proud to count themselves as one of these. They point with satisfaction not only to their record as a class but to the individual records of their leaders. In the Class of 1946, it is interesting to note that the good students, those who draw top grades, are on the honor roll, and have won the approval of the faculty, are also the chosen leaders of the class. This and the fact that the class has always been active in the worthwhile causes around the school, such as bond drives, scrap drives, courtesy campaigns, Red Cross activities, and programs to build school spirit, mark it as a class with good judgment and high ideals. So without further ceremony of introduction, we of the Critan staff present to you—the Seniors! Norma Manley SENIORS Sue Zollar OF 1946 Tom Koledii These six students were selected by the Senior Class as being the most typical of the class of 1946.
